Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update
We hope everyone enjoyed some time off of school during our Spring Break!
Students will be walking to the Peace Center with their donations of personal care items, breakfast cereal, PB&J, snacks and cooking/baking supplies. It’s wonderful to see students engaging in service and helping others in the community. Donations like these not only provide essential items to those in need but also teach valuable lessons about compassion, generosity, and the importance of serving others. It’s great to hear how the students are learning and living out the values of their Catholic faith. Thank you for contributing to this effort!
On Friday, April 11 all students in grades 2-4 will have the exciting opportunity to attend a field trip to the Minnesota Science Museum. This is such a great place for hands-on learning and exploration. Students will have a blast engaging with the exhibits and expanding their knowledge of science. It’s also a fun way for them to connect with what they’ve been learning in the classroom.
Reconciliation is such an important sacrament, especially for students in grades 3-8 as they continue to grow in their faith. Students will have the opportunity to participate in this meaningful spiritual practice on Tuesday, April 8th. It’s a wonderful way for them to reflect, seek forgiveness, and strengthen their relationship with God.
Our 7th and 8th graders have the amazing opportunity to build a canoe! St. Wenceslaus School was one of 18 schools to be accepted into this program for the 2024-25 school year, and it is funded through CSCOE. Students and staff are excited to see it happen! Staff from Urban Wilderness (https://www.urbanwildernessprogram.org/) will be heading this up with our students. Building starts on April 10!
Clubhouse during Easter Break – Open ONLY on Wednesday the 16th.

Ignatius Book Fair – Friday April 4th through Wednesday April 9 promises to be both enjoyable and enriching for our students (and parishioners)!
- Students shop during their library times on Friday, Monday, and Wednesday
- And the community can shop after masses on Sunday April, 6th from 9:30-Noon!
The Ignatius Book Fair will offer an incredible selection of Catholic and secular works that inspire, educate, and allow our students to explore the complementary nature of faith and literature.
Our school receives rewards for every book purchased during and after the fair. Continue shopping all year long on the Ignatius Book Fair website to help us earn free books for our school. Each purchase from the Ignatius Book Fair benefits our school, allowing us to enhance our library resources and reading programs.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school activities. We look forward to seeing you at the Ignatius Book Fair and sharing the joy of reading with our students!
Nonpublic pupil aid alert! URGENT!
The Governor’s proposed budget eliminates critical nonpublic pupil aid, which provides funding for textbooks, testing, counseling, nursing, and transportation for nonpublic school students. These cuts amount to over $50 million per year—roughly $1,080 per student—placing a greater financial burden on families and potentially putting their school of choice out of reach. Nonpublic pupil aid ensures equal access to essential educational resources and helps families afford the best education for their children. Tell your state legislators to oppose these harmful cuts and protect our students! Visit www.mncatholic.org/action_
Calendar update!
There has been a change to our calendar. The last day for kindergarten-7th grade students will be Thursday, May 22. Last day for 8th graders is Wednesday, May 21. 8th grade graduation will happen in the evening of May 21.
