Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Our school is fully accredited by the Minnesota Non-Public School Accreditation Association. This means that every seven years, our school digs deep into all areas of our school for study and review.  We study areas of curriculum, staff resources, finances, facilities, service, community relations, and more. We look at our effectiveness and strengths as well as areas that are challenging and need more support and research.

The school develops a strategic plan based on the findings. This plan is what is used to drive the goals and plans for the future 5-7 years.  In spring, a team of teachers and principals will visit our school for three days to validate our findings and make suggestions.  Continuous growth and improvement is what we aim for each and every year.

Our strategic plan is always available for viewing on our school website.  It is updated every spring. There are goals each year that the school works on so that a directed and strong focus remains for school improvement.

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

Christmas Concert Etiquette at the Evening show!

We have a few procedures that we wish for everyone to follow.

1. Do not save benches by coming ahead of time and placing coats and personal articles in the bench.

2. If one person from your family comes and sits in the bench early to save it, that is more acceptable.

6. Six adults fit in each bench, so if you are not a party of 6 then invite others to have a seat. The church will be jammed full at 6:00 pm for the evening concert.

7. Do not hold a camera up the entire time to get a recording. This blocks other people’s views. We also take recordings from the camera high up in the choir loft.

8. Do not hold babies up higher or let them stand on your lap if their body is higher than your head. This blocks the view of other people.

8. Do not place anything in the aisles; we use all 4 aisles for kids coming on and off stage. (This includes cameras on tripods, baby care sears, walkers, canes, wheel chairs, etc….)

9 Do not let younger kids or kids of guests sit in the aisle. Also do not get out of your seat to come up the aisle to snap a picture.

12:30 show

1. We encourage you to have grandparents and others attend this show. Parking is often a problem, and it is a long walk to the church.

2. Not as many people come to this show so if you wish to record or take pictures, you can be seated behind the rest of the crowd to stand and to do so.

3. The K-8 students may go home with a guest in attendance after the afternoon show – BUT ONLY IF YOU SEND AN EMAIL AHEAD OF TIME TO MRS HARTMAN  GIVING PERMISSION FOR THE GUEST TO TAKE YOUR CHILD. Chances are the show will end only a few minutes before dismissal, so regular routines are great too!

PreK, preschool and kindergarten nativity shows

There will be plenty of room and seating. You are allowed to get up and move around to take pictures. We will stop at one point to let you take a group photo.

We are very excited to present to you at all of these events.  Sit back and relax and enjoy our Christmas celebrations.
