Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Starting with Sunday Mass on January 28, we begin National Catholic Schools Week, our annual celebration of what makes education at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School outstanding. We have a whole week of activities planned to celebrate the community we have built.

The theme for our celebration is “United in Faith and Community.”  The theme encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country. The theme focuses on key elements of Catholic education: faith development, academic excellence, and dedication to service. These elements set Catholic education apart from other educational options, and this is why families make sacrifices to enroll their children.

We are thankful for the staff, parents, council members, volunteers, parishioners, and supporters who make our school a success. This is a good time to recognize everyone who is dedicated to and serves our school.

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

Pancake Breakfast helpers are needed

Parents, we need your help:
Pancake makers, coffee servers, and table cleaners.
Students in grades 5-8 can earn service hours – but we especially need adults to do the main jobs.

This event is sponsored by our local Knights of Columbus.

Please email Kim if you can be added to the list.

Report Cards are coming home.
The report cards  and NWEA tests are coming home in the backpacks.

Keep in mind….
The lower grade levels use standards to grade on a 1 to 4 scale, with 2 being a great average score for a child at this time of year as it shows progress.

The upper grades use traditional letter grades of A, B, C, D, and F.  Most students will receive the grades of A, B, and C. These are all great grades. If your child receives a D or an F, then they have put in no/little effort and have chosen to get this grade.

It is not the teacher who earns the grade, but the student. Please embrace this with your child.
