Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update

We have a short school week as we enter this most holy week. Easter break for St. Wenceslaus students is Wednesday April 16 through Monday April 21. See you on the 22nd, after we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on Easter.

From Mrs. Stavos, St. Wenceslaus School librarian, the driving force of our recent St. Ignatius Book Fair: I would like to thank everyone for supporting our school’s book fair!  There was so much excitement for the book fair!  We sold over $2000 in books and were able to get over $400 worth of books from the book fair for the library.   Thank you all so much!!

Thank you all for the food donations for The Peace Center, our local food shelf! This was part of our Lenten almsgiving. Students were able to walk the donations to the Peace Center on Friday. Our donations weighed in at 479 pounds!!!!

Clubhouse during Easter Break – Open ONLY on Wednesday the 16th.

Fish Fry news: No more fish available! They have all been ‘caught’! Thanks for everyone’s support! Until 2026!

Canoe building for our 7th and 8th graders continues this week! Staff from Urban Wilderness (https://www.urbanwildernessprogram.org/) are heading this up with our students. Students are enjoying this hands on experience!

Nonpublic pupil aid alert! URGENT!

The Governor’s proposed budget eliminates critical nonpublic pupil aid, which provides funding for textbooks, testing, counseling, nursing, and transportation for nonpublic school students. These cuts amount to over $50 million per year—roughly $1,080 per student—placing a greater financial burden on families and potentially putting their school of choice out of reach. Nonpublic pupil aid ensures equal access to essential educational resources and helps families afford the best education for their children. Tell your state legislators to oppose these harmful cuts and protect our students! Visit www.mncatholic.org/action_23393 to send a message today.  Further information here.

Calendar update!

There has been a change to our calendar. The last day for kindergarten-7th grade students will be Thursday, May 22. Last day for 8th graders is Wednesday, May 21. 8th grade graduation will happen in the evening of May 21.

At Saint Wenceslaus, we take great pride in our school community. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to ensure that every child feels supported and successful—not only in academics but also in their spiritual growth, collaboration, social skills, & leadership development.

Registration for 2025-26 is now open! Help us continue our long-standing tradition of educating and nurturing young minds by sharing this opportunity with those you know. Together, we can shape the future, one student at a time! Call our school if you would like more information or a tour. We look forward to partnering with you!

Look for the bucket to donate @ St. Wenceslaus School! The money is used for scholorships and grants that teachers apply for to enhance their classrooms. St. Wenceslaus teachers AND students have benefited from these funds and this partnership.
