Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS

The next few months will be a flurry of events and important school functions. Growing enrollment is critical to keep our school programs lively and thriving. Recruitment for our preschool and kindergarten is important to bring new students to our school. Our staff is dedicated to bringing many little souls to know God. Catholic school faith-integrated methods are the best way to extend the teachings of the child’s parents on a daily basis.

Our school needs dedicated faith-filled people to help with our recruitment efforts. Parents with young children may not realize the strong impact of a Catholic school. Some young parents have not found their church connection, thus not realizing our school exists. Some young parents don’t realize how to connect with our school and thus do not know when open house events, tours, and special programs occur.  We need all of our adults, those without and with children, to share and reach out to the young parents around us to tell them about our school.

See our school calendar for all of the upcoming activities and invite someone to join you at them.

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

Kindergarten Registration for Fall 2024 Class

Kindergarten registration is now open for classes starting in fall 2024.

We will have a fun night for all registered kindergarten potentials and parents on Tuesday, February  13.  Mark your calendar for one of our favorite evenings for all parents, kids, and teachers. 6:00 PM.

Valentine’s Day will be celebrated on Feb 13 – NOT Feb. 14

Due to Ash Wednesday being on Valentine’s Day, we will not be celebrating this day. Ash Wednesday is a day for fasting and abstinence.

SWS will hold our Valentine’s Day one day earlier on the 13th.

No uniforms on this day – Red, White, and Pink clothing.  Students may also celebrate Mardi Gras with Green and Purple clothing.

A treat from our School Parent Association will be shared on this day.

Spirit of St. Wenceslaus Award

Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School has been blessed with countless volunteers and supporters throughout our history. In an effort to recognize those who have gone above and beyond, we have created the Spirit of St. Wenceslaus Award. This award will be given to a person who has furthered the mission of the school, is a role model for our students, and has actively and outwardly lived the values of the school. The recipient of the award will designate the purpose of the Spirit of St. Wenceslaus Award fund, which is comprised of all donations towards the fund that are received during the year.

The inaugural recipient of the Spirit of St. Wenceslaus Award is Ron McBroom. Ron has been active in the parish since 1971 and in the St. Wenceslaus School community since 1975. He is a long-time supporter of the school and has been a champion of the annual Marathon for non-public education, raising more than $10,000 each year. In addition to financial support, Ron outwardly demonstrates the values of the Catholic faith to the community and is a true role model for our students.

Please join us in celebrating the inaugural winner of the Spirit of St. Wenceslaus award – Ron McBroom- at our annual Starry Night Gala.

You can register for this event by going to our event website:

Fathe Miller Time and Howdy Doody
Fr. Miller from St. Patrick’s Church happened to be roaming around our church when the kindergarten kids were practicing.

Fr. Miller has a radio show at KCHK on Sunday nights from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. It is called “Fr. Miller Time.”  He is going to use our kid’s voices as part of his radio show.
