Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

This week we celebrate the Patron Saint of our parish and our school. The feast of St. Wenceslaus takes place on Wednesday, September 28.

Wenceslaus (Václav in Czech) was the Duke of Bohemia. He served the country by bringing the Christian faith to the people as taught to him by his grandmother, Ludmila. He became a Martyr at the hands of his brother, Boleslaus, who, with his pagan soldiers, murdered Wenceslaus as he was going to church for the morning Mass.

Wenceslaus lived from 907 to 935. He lived and is now buried in an area near the current city of Praha (Prague) which was central Bohemia at the time of Wenceslaus.
