Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

I am so proud of our school staff this year. In the past few weeks we have worked hard as a staff to gel together and learn with and from each other. We have quite a number of new teachers in our school and we have an equal number of staff members who are mentoring and guiding.  We are living out what we preach. This is a spirit of collaboration, acceptance, patience, and teamwork.

One of the special things we are gifted with in teaching/working in a Catholic school is our focus on our own spirituality. We learn so that we can teach. We practice so that that we can model. We pray and worship so that we are authentic in our love for God.

Souls on fire for God!
Kim

Emergency Calling System- All-School Broadcast

We will be conducting a trial call for our emergency calling system this week.

The trial call will take place on Tuesday, September 20 between 6:00PM and 7:00PM.

If you DO NOT get a call, please let us know so we can check on the number in our records.

If you want to add an additional number to receive the emergency calls, please let us know this too.

Contact sherry.hartman@swsaints.org and kim.doyle@swsaints.org

Emergency calls are mostly sent out for snow days, late starts and early dismissals due to weather, but are also in place for the case of a greater emergency such as a lock down, fire, or even broken pipe in the school when we must evacuate or close the building. Parents are given the full instructions for the emergency through this calling notice.

Marathon Day – what to expect!
The marathon consists of kids and parents walking or running a course around our St. Wenceslaus campus. Everyone can do it! You can go one lap or many laps.

For every lap around the course, there is a prize table at the end. The more laps, the bigger the prizes.

8:30-9:00 – check-in. Each student must check-in and gets a lap tally pinned to their back.
9:00-10:00 – running and walking – go to homeroom teacher for a tally after each lap.
10:00 – prize tables open
10:30 – event concludes

There will be coffee/donuts upon arrival.
The local Knights of Columbus will be there to serve us hot dogs and chips.

Water will be available but we suggest each child have a water bottle of their own for the run.

Marathon for Non-Public Education

Our Goal =  $55,000.

Duck Call
For event $50, student will get a choice of Duck!

Toddler Tuesdays
Beginning – Tuesday, September 20th and every Tuesday after. (On days when school is in session)

8:00 AM -10:00 AM

Come when you can and bring your friends and neighbors who also have toddlers- ages 1-4/5. Kids can run around in the gym.  Our PE teacher, Mrs. Turner, will be there too and provide some of the school equipment for even more fun.

Park in the school parking lot and enter through the main doors near the gym. Someone will be there to let you in. If the door is locked, just want in the lobby. We will find you!

School Mass at 8:00am every Wednesday

All parents, grandparents, and friends of our school are invited to join us every Wednesday morning for our school Mass.

We ask that you sit in the back. All of our students in K-8 will sit with their classes and teachers up front.

Preschool families we also encourage you to come before the 9:00 preschool start time.

School Mass is planned by a different group of students each week and planned so that the students get to participate and understand.

Thank you parade participants

We had such a great presence in the parade. More than one parish member stopped me as I was walking back to my car after the parade to tell me how proud they were of our school in the parade.

We are especially appreciative of all of the parents who walked along the route with us.
