Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Today is the Feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe (December 12). This is an honored day when the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to a poor farmer, named Juan Diego, on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico. The result was the conversion to Christianity for many people in our North American continent.  Mary is now named the patron of the America’s.

I had the good fortune to have traveled to the shrine in Mexico City. I saw close up the actual tilma that was worn by Juan Diego. A clear visual of the Blessed Virgin is imprinted on the tilma. The tilma (cloak) is a one piece cloth made of catus strands woven and worn by the poor.  The image has been examined by all scientific and religious authorities and it has been determined to be miraculous. Honestly, this image is the most amazing site that I have ever seen.  It is beautiful beyond words and is a sign directly from God to the people more than 500 years ago and to us now. Living in a monastery on the grounds of the shine for a few days and praying for hours while gazing at the divine image of the Blessed Virgin has changed my life forever. At that moment, Mary became my true mother and her guidance has been directing my life ever since. I am blessed!

Oh Blessed Virgin Mary,  Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for all of us at St. Wenceslaus.

Principal

Starry Night Gala 2023 Meeting – Tonight!

Monday, 12/12/2022

Planning committee seminar/meeting – In the STEM Lab.

New parents who wish to get involved are are welcome!

Enter through the front Main Street door and go to the top of the stairs.

Reconciliation/Confession – Grades 3-8
One of the many advantages for students attending a Catholic School is the opportunity for many forms of prayer. Reconciliation is a time for all of us to have our sins forgiven. Students will participate in a private confession on December 15.

Non-Catholic kids can also go to talk with the priest at this time by simply identifying that they are not Catholic when they sit down to talk.

Parents – there is the same opportunity for you on that evening – December 15 in the church 5:00-8:00 PM.

Our School Nativity Manger Scene
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for pictures.
Facebook @ Saint Wenceslaus School

“Like” our page and “share” it often.

Day by day, our students are adding one item at a time to create our Nativity Manger Scene. Students in each class worked in groups creating (STEM) each figure: the people, animals, stable, stars, etc…..
It is beautiful!

 From the School Advisory Council
We know that families are busy and sometimes it helps to have new ideas to incorporate more of the faith into your family life.

For the Love of Family
This week’s challenge:

Create a routine of saying a short prayer each time you get in the car or drive to a specific place. Say a Hail Mary or a quick personal prayer so that your children become familiar with the words and can connect with God as they grow older.
