Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

That’s a wrap for this school year.
All of us at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School wish each of you a wonderful summer with relaxation and warm sun. You are an amazing community and we are so thankful to have you with us.

Updates will come to you over the summer months but not weekly. We are already working on our school plans to start up again in fall. You will be informed as it is appropriate with changes to existing staff and new teachers, gatherings of our school community, important things happening in the school over the summer, times when we can all get together, and more.

Each year, we find our school moving and changing. With change comes growth and opportunities. We look forward to the future of SWS. Stay tuned in to SWS.

Summer Homework

Watch your child’s teacher messages. We do have work assigned to our students for the summer in grades 2-8. This work is a mimimal requirement that helps your child stay focused on math and reading skills.  We have found that the kids who have done the summer work come back to school a step ahead of those who do not.

In the older grades – they are required to read 3 books and do a short summary according to a 10 point guide.  They are required to do 60 minutes of math per month on Kahn Academy. These assignments do count toward their 1st grade in fall.

Parents – this is good for your kids. Please encourage them to take some time this summer to complete it.

Red “Property of Saint Wenceslaus School ” t-shirts
Adults – do you have one of these red shirts?

We would love if you wear these around town this summer. They are great advertising for our school.

Also, please wear this red t-shirt to our church festival on August 13 and 14 to show you are connected to SWS!

We will ask everyone to wear them when we participate in the Dozinky parade in September. Get yours now.

Adult sizes are availalbe in the office – $15 each.
Child sizes will need to be ordered, but we will have them before the festival. ( we have limited sizes in the office)

SWS Uniform Exchange
This is a spot on Facebook for SWS parents to give away and find free uniforms.
Post uniforms the are too small or ones your kids never wear. Others might be able to use it for their kids.

Keep this link and site going all summer long.

Facebook – SWS Uniform Exchange
https://www.facebook.com/groups/237192437844409

Do Not bring bags of uniforms to school. We no longer host an exchange night as we have no place to store them.  The uniform site was successful last year. We will try for one more year.

Be sure to post the sizes you are giving or the sizes you need to connect up with other parents.
