Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
It’s Marathon Week! This is the final week leading to the annual Marathon which takes place on Saturday morning. All families in Preschool through grade 8 are requested to attend.
Here are the details:
8:15 Arrive and check in and get a wristband to count the rounds walked.
(go inside the Parish Activity Center- PAC)
8:30 Welcome by Kim Doyle and a prayer by Fr. Kevin outside the PAC
8:35 Students, parents, and teachers head out on the route
Walking takes place for the next hour.
9:30 Stop and collect prizes
Eat a hot dog meal provided by our local Knights of Columbus
Join in the Spirit of SWS…. K-8 plus Little Saints!

Marathon Update
We have collected 60% of our goal.
All Money needs to be turned in by October 1

Thanks to those who joined us for the Parade Unit. We are so appreciative to you for being a part of our parade unit.
It is important to have a great presence within our school community. You helped to make our school look great.
Preschool teachers distributed special invitations to preschool families along the sidelines while the rest tossed out candy, handed out postcards to the upcoming craft show (Handmade Market), or phone numbers for our new “Pot of Gold” raffle for $20,000 in cash!


This is one fun evening for parents and students in Preschool and beyond. Come on Thursday, Oct 11 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Parents and child work as a team to do a variety of STEM challenges. Every student must have an adult partner!
We will have STEM challenge activities for all levels, robots, the high school robotics team will be here to show off their competition robotics unit and give our students some STEM challenges, MN Microscopy Society will have fun things to look at in the microscopes, Chart Industries will have a table of the real-life STEM, SWS staff will guide you into Thinking, Experimenting, and Competing to get the best results, and much more!
This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC so invite your adult neighbors to bring their children. Grandparents, supporters, and friends of SWS, please come to see STEM in action.
Mass of the Holy Spirit
14,000 Catholic School students honoring 1 God.
Archbishop Hebda, Bishop Cozzens, 100’s for priests

Private Event, sponsored by the Catholic School Center of Excellence.
Each student needs to bring one winter clothing item to donate.
Catholic School Center of Excellence needs Volunteers for the Mass of the Holy Spirit at US Bank Stadium.
This is a great way for those parents who want to come to the mass attend.
YoYo’s for sale this week:
On Monday the students in grades K-6 will enjoy a show called “The Ned Show”. Ned is a character that teaches the students about developing a good attitude toward school, teachers, and classmates. Ned teaches students to have a growth mindset so they can work their hardest.
Ned will have yoyos for sale all week. The profit from the sales pays for the actor to come and present the Ned Show,
Yoyos can be purchased from Mrs. Rademacher each day this week. They range from $8- $10 – $15 for each yo-yo.

POT O GOLD
Want to win $20,000 in cash? This year we will be doing this fun raffle instead of the Fish House Raffle called the POT-O-GOLD. There will be 600 tickets sold for $100 each. The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the school golf tournament on June 14. If you want to buy a ticket or if you want to sell a few tickets to friends, contact the school office. Several smaller cash prizes are included in this raffle.

Trojan Homecoming
Celebrate our hometown team! All students and staff will wear Trojan colors on Friday. We will watch the homecoming parade on Friday at 1:00.
Marathon t-shirts – Save these to wear on Saturday for the actual marathon.
Marathon Service Projects
Along with walking for the marathon, each class at SWS also does a service project. for the community. We will start our service within over the next few weeks.
Here is what we will be up to.
Preschool will make placemats for the dining room at Queens Court.
Kindergarten will clean church pews and kneelers.
1st grade cleans the bleachers.
2nd grade will write letters to soldiers.
3rd grade will be dramatizing Halloween poems/singing songs at Mala Strana.
4th graders are going to clean the Mary Garden.
5th grade will clean out the planters that line Main Street.
6th grade clean the garden at Philipps Square.
7th grade will be volunteering at Hope House.
8th grade will clean the New Prague Brahna
