Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the office of principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS,
Last Wednesday, our staff was picked up by charter bus at 6:00 AM and taken to the Minneapolis Convention Center for a conference of all 79 Catholic elementary schools in our Archdiocese. This was provided to us by the Catholic School Center of Excellence. It was an amazing day with more than 2000 staff members and many fantastic speakers.
It was so inspiring, especially to have the entire assembly participate in a Mass with Archbishop Hebda where we prayed for our Catholic schools. Catholic education is huge and a vital party of our society. Our job is to bring more souls to Christ! This a very important goal and one the takes us all into eternity. We are so very blessed to have our a wonderful Catholic school for our children.

K-8 students will all head out on the bus on Thursday, Oct. 24 to see the play in Bloomington. We will leave at 8:15 and return at around 1:00.
Students can bring a bag lunch or order a bag lunch from the kitchen. Please let your child know ahead of time because we need to place our order in the kitchen a few days before.
Students may wear a nice outfit to school this day instead of their uniforms.
Handmade Market- October 26 – 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Our annual fall craft fair take place on Saturday. Don’t miss it. Over 60 vendors will display their handcrafted products.
Our Home and School Association ( moms from the school) will have a booth filled with crafted items and a concession area that will serve coffee, treats, and lunch.
Send the day with us and be sure to notify all of your family and friends.
Trunk or treat – Saturday, October 26 – 3:30-4:30
This is a free, fun and safe event that brings Halloween to our church parking lot. Bring all of your little ones in costume to get their treats.
We’re in need of several more “trunks” to make this event a success. Set up starts at 2:45 PM. Decorate your trunk and/or dress in a costume.
Congratulations to Ms. Kait!
Kaitlyn Schoenbauer, our school counselor was married on Saturday to Michael Fadden. She is now Mrs. Fadden and will be on her honeymoon for the next week. We will still be calling her Ms. Kait!
Recently, she has been teaching classroom lessons on not bullying, not being a bystander, and working cooperatively with others in school. Kait has also been providing teachers with lessons on mindfulness which provides ways for kids to relax in school and lower stress levels.
Student Adoration
Students in K-8 have the opportunity for personal prayer each month in front of the Blessed Sacrament. This takes place in the chapel this week on Friday. We invite students to choose to come and pray. They may leave their classroom anytime during the hours of 8:30-10:30 AM and come to pray on their own accord. It is a beautiful experience! Students can keep a rosary, bible, or other prayer books/cards in their desks or lockers and use them on our adoration days this year.
Please talk to your child about their experience with this opportunity. You might be surprised to hear of their faith life – even when they are so young.

Conferences will take place at the following times.

This is a great way to give input in how things are going with the Catholic Church. These conversations will guide the goals of the Archdiocese for the future.
