Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS,
“We are all in this together!” I have not really taken these words seriously until a few recent events. I have been enlightened by our first few lab-confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 realizing how vulnerable each of us really is in this pandemic. It can happen to any of us, at any time, with or without knowing how we actually picked up the virus and if we have spread it to anyone. We try our hardest to to keep ourselves and others healthy, yet as hard as we try there in no guarantee.
Here at school we are working continually to keep the staff and children healthy through many safety procedures. However, if we opt to have school in person or even opt to leave our own home where we might be able to isolate from others, then we take a risk. This is a time to offer support, prayers, and love to each other because none of us knows what the next person’s life entails. How can we be in this together if we do not show the compassion and love that we claim as our gifts from God and to do it freely for the love of our neighbor.
I pray that a goal of all of us in our SWS community can truly be one where we are “all in this together”. May God give us the grace to live His will in love.
“Pray Often, Work Hard, Trust God”
Pizza coming home at 2:30 on Wednesday, October 21
If your child brought in $300 or more for the school marathon, then they will be bringing home a pizza for every $300. This is a good day to pick up your child by car. Any student not in school that day will be able to bring their pizza home on a different day or parents may pick up pizza at our dismissal time by the parking lot doors to the PAC (2:10 to 2:30).

Saintly Service
This year we are focusing on nine great saints. In October we study St. Teresa of Calcutta. Our goal is to be “assertively friendly” like Mother Teresa.
Endowment Board of Directors
Did you know that SWS has an endowment fund that accepts donations? We also have a board of directors for this fund. We would like to open this up for a few people to join this board. There are only two meetings per year. Are you good at investing money? Are you good at helping other people invest their money? Then we could use your skills. Please let Kim know if you are interested in helping the school in this way.
Halloween Activities
This is how we will celebrate Halloween at our school this year.
1. No uniforms- everyone wears orange and black.
2. We will play an all school bingo game with prizes over the PA system with all kids in their classrooms.
3. The students will be given a treat.
No costumes, games, dance, and no treats brought from home this year! Boo Hoo!
Auction/Gala Committee – It is time to start planning and we need people to help with our biggest fundraiser of the year.
Will it be live or virtual? We need to start having these conversations. Who is willing to help this year? Contact Kim
