Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS,
We give a huge shout out this week to all of our wonderful school parents! You are amazing in helping your child/ren with all that they need to do for school during the quarantine days as well as when you are sending your kids into the school building.
We are so apprecaitive of the extra time your spend waiting in lines to pick up and drop off, with making sure your kids have appropriate clothing and clean masks, and sending them with full water bottles each day. We are so thankful for your quick repsonses when you need to quickly pick up your child. Thank you for adjusting your schedule when your child has a symptom so that you can see if they are healthy or for getting them tested when you are not sure. We are appreciatve of your consideration for the other children and for the staff.
Thank you for your love, your support, and your cooperation with the school. Thank you for your patience, your flexibility, your trust, and your prayers for everyone who is part of our SWS family. We all need and count on each other as we go through this life and now more importantly during this pandemic. Thanks for being the greatest school parents!

Conference Link for November 5
Watch for an invitation to come to you directly from your child’s homeroom teacher. This will be the link to your private Google Meet Conference on Thursday. If you need to change times, please contact the teacher directly.
If you would like to meet with a teacher who is not your child’s homeroom teacher, please contact that teacher by e-mail to secure a time slot.
NWEA Test Results – Grades 1 – 8
The NWEA report for your child’s growth came home in a backpack last week. Please have this report handy during your virtual conference time so that you can discuss results with the teacher.
NWEA tests are given in fall, winter, and spring. Normally, the reports show a growth plan from fall to spring. These tests are used to help the teachers zero in on the greater needs of the class and each student so that they can develop a curriculum to meet learning standards better.
This year we adjusted the report to show growth from last fall 2019 to this fall 2020. We want to look at the results including “Covid spring distance learning time and the typical summer slide” so that we can set direction with our goals.
Amazon Smile Program
With the holiday coming, I am sure that many of you will be shopping online. Please sign up for this program and name St. Wenceslaus Catholic School (In Minnesota – as there are also schools by the same name in other states) Our school receives 0.5% back on all purchases. It might not seem like a lot, but it all adds up over time.
