Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Mt 1:23

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone. We hope that the next few weeks are filled with family and friends who share the Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Blessings,
Kim Doyle
Principal

Tuesday K-8 Concert

We will have two performances on Tuesday.
1:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

The 1:00 show is perfect for the grandparents and other relatives who may not want to drive in the evening.

For the 6:30 show – All students must meet their teachers at 6:00 PM in their classrooms to get lined up appropriately. (Except for a few piano students who will meet in the church at 5:45)

Here are a few school rules:

1. Relatives may NOT take kids out of school after the 1:00 show unless the parents have given the office direct permission and they come to the office to check out.

2. K-8 students must meet their teacher in their classroom not in the church at 6:00 PM. Then after the concert, parents must come into the school to pick up each child at their classroom.

3.  Benches/pews cannot be saved ahead of time with coats and other items. To save a bench, you must be sitting in the bench.

Note***** The first 3 benches on each side are reserved for the winners of the Starry Night bidding.

4. Do not block other people’s  view with cameras or small children that you let stand on the bench to be higher and see.

5. Keep all aisles free of cameras and people. Small children must be in the bench. We will be using all aisles.

6. Sit back and enjoy the show!

 From the School Advisory Council
We know that families are busy and sometimes it helps to have new ideas to incorporate more of the faith into your family life.

For the Love of Family
This week’s challenge:

Challenge families to choose one weekday to begin their morning with Jesus—before they do anything else. Encourage families to pray together or do one thing that honors Jesus. Encourage them to talk about the difference between the days they begin with Jesus and the days they don’t.

Dashing through December Fun for Students and Staff

December 22 – Be comfy! Come in your pjs on the final day before Christmas break and bring an extra snack to eat while watching a movie!

Starry Night
We are getting ready for our Starry Night Auction/Gala Event. We need all families ( Preschool to grade 8) to consider a way to help.

This fundraiser needs to bring in $75.000 to our school budget for the current school year. We also have a special Fund-a-need which will bring in extra funds to support a special school project.

Here is how to help
1. Donate to the class basket themes (list attached)
2. Join the planning committee
3. Join a smaller task committee
4. Attend the event and bring your friends
5. Help find donors – item, experiences, sponsors
6. Help find cabins, condos and places for people to stay

Contact KIm with ideas or talk to our event chairperson, Colleen Sullivan – marshall0035@hotmail.com
