Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of the Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;
January is usually one of the busiest months of the school year. We are bustling with activities and plans. Critical events take place to sustain and grow the school. We need all of our current families, past families, supporters, grandparents, past grandparents, friends of the school, alumni, and parishioners to remain connected and supportive. We absolutely cannot make it without you.
Please join in, volunteer, participate, and persist in being a valuable and active member of our school. Our goal is to keep our school alive and growing as a critical ministry of our Catholic Church and a place of value for every child to grow closer to God through steady faith development. Catholic education is a faith-filled opportunity with a Christ-centered program forming the hearts, souls, and minds of our children so that they may be virtuous leaders of future generations.
Kim Doyle
Principal
Matthew 22:37 – And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Snowman Celebration – This Tuesdays !
This party is exclusively for children in kindergarten and younger.
If possible, try to leave older children at home with one parent or older sibling. If not possible, then that older child must ONLY be with the little one who will get to play games and NOT be running around.
Games are designed and will be run by our SWS 5th and 6th graders.

PreK Early Learning Scholarship
– for kids going into the PreK Program
It takes only a few minutes to complete. Most families receive between $500 to $1500 for preschool tuition.

School Enrollment
Our enrollment numbers are key to sustaining and growing our school programs. Gaining a few new students each year benefits all families and staff members. Having our kindergarten and preschool classes filled are critical to sustaining our numbers. Enrollment time is coming in January and February for families. We will host several open house/registration events. We have been contacting potential families in a variety of ways. The best resource to recruit additional students, however, is the testimony and the invitation from you, a current school family or supporter. Please reach out to your friends, relatives, and neighbors. Invite them to consider our school in 2023.
Aim Higher Grants
Applications for the Aim Higher Grant opens tomorrow, on November 1st. Families with financial need can apply for a $1000 tuition grant for the 23-24 school year.

School Accreditation from MNSAA
(Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association)
School accreditation is a continuous process that helps our school focus on improvement. The school sets a seven-year improvement plan. During the 6th and 7th year of the plan the school does a full comprehensive study and sets future goals. The accreditation process also requires a review by the accreditation association to give an outside view and review to support the school’s future plans. Our association is called MNSAA. You will be hearing more about this during the entire 2023 as we are now in the 6th year of the process. Our visit by MNSAA will take place in spring of 2024. Watch for more about this throughout the year.
From the School Advisory Council
We know that families are busy and sometimes it helps to have new ideas to incorporate more of the faith into your family life.
For the Love of Family
This week’s challenge:
Play a seek-and-find game during the week. The objective is to find as many crosses hidden in everyday life as possible. Think telephone poles, signposts, seams on a basketball, and tons more. The goal is to make the game a habit, so families are continuously looking for crosses—and constantly reminded of Jesus. Remind families to share their findings at dinner each evening.
