Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS:

Living amongst the saints brings great comfort. I often hear the name of a saint or see a saint pop up on my Facebook. When I read about that person’s life, I can regularly find a way to connect to them. It brings comfort and encouragement to read their stories of strength as they strive to be good and faithful followers of Christ.  The saints are all around us as examples of the steps for our lives.

This week, we worship together on All Saints Day.  May the special saints of your life be with you, guiding and supporting you on your life journey.

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

Halloween dance on 10/31/23.  Students can bring a costume to change into from 1:00-2:00.

No hair paint, face paint, make-up, weapons, or any pieces to a costume that is thought of as a weapon or extra part of a costume that is carried.  Also, there are no costumes that are inappropriate within a school.

Parents are welcome to attend. You must check in at the front office.  Wear a costume.

Non-Uniform Day tomorrow – Orange/ Black

The students can wear school-appropriate orange and black clothing tomorrow instead of uniforms.  This will help eliminate lost uniforms since everyone will be changing into a costume for the dance.

Sick Kids
Please make good decisions about sending kids to school when they are not feeling 100% well.  The school prefers kids to stay home when they have anything that spreads to others.

Covid and the flu are here. A day or two at home resting will help the children and the teachers stay healthy.  If your child has a bad cough, is very congested, and has symptoms – STAY HOME until these are better.

Children should not be in school if they do not know how to cover their cough or blow their nose sanitarily.

Children must be fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours to come to school.

Children must not have vomited or must not have had an episode of diarrhea for 24 hours before coming to school.

If the child is sent home from 24-hourschool due to illness, they need to stay home the following day until they are significantly better and have met the 24 hour rule.

Parent/Teachers Conference

Conferences will take place with all homeroom teachers on Nov. 2  Please schedule your appointment. Conferences will be 15 minutes in length for preschool to grade 4 and 10 minutes for grades 5-8.
Nov. 3 will be a teacher comp day/no school.  Club House will be open both days.
