Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update

From the Office of Principal

This is a very busy week for the children.

Happy Halloween –  Halloween consists of a few treats, no uniforms and our school dance called the Monster Mash.

Happy All Saints Day – We start our day with our All Saints Day Mass at 8:00. We will have Mass on Thursday this week to celebrate this Holy Day for our Catholic faith.

Happy All Souls Day – On this day most of our students will walk to the parish cemetery where they will pray a rosary in the chapel for all of our departed souls.

Students are invited to bring pictures of the saints in their lives who have departed from us through death. These can be placed on a table in front of the Mary altar in the church for the month of November.

Picture Day
All students in preschool to grade 8 will have their pictures taken by Greg Rademacher Photography. You are under NO Obligation to purchase these. You can order them if you wish. The order and payment must accompany the child on the day of the pictures. Order forms are coming home.

Students can wear any clothing that you desire for them to have a professional school portrait. These will be used in our school yearbook later in the year so even if you do not plan to purchase, all students will get their picture taken.

Tuesday, November 6 – Grades Preschool, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Wednesday, November 6  – Grades PreK, 6, 7, 8

Preschool Step up Day
On the morning of Friday, November 2 our prekindergarten students will join our kindergarten teacher and her students in the kindergarten room for a fun lesson. Prekindergarten students will see what it is like to be a grown up kindergartener!

CLUB HOUSE DAYS
Club House will only be open on days when school is in session.  This is a change that must be made due to financial circumstances.   Please plan ahead for the future. If you are in need of a babysitter, for these days, please email kim.doyle@swsaints.org. We have many wonderful 7th and 8th grade students who are on our babysitting lists.

Starry Night Event to take place on March 16
Can you take on a small role?
We have lots of little things to do so don’t be afraid to be a part of the committee.

It can be fun!  You get to make adult friends along the way!
To join the committee just let Kim know.

We will soon be asking for donations – large and small – to make this night a success.

Food Drive
On November 14, our school will be celebrating Thanksgiving at mass. It has been a tradition for our students to bring non-perishable food and personal care items to share with those in our community who are less fortunate. Please consider some of the following items for which there is currently a greater need at the Peace Center.
Condiments (mayo, dressings, seasonings)
Juices (apple, orange, tomato, etc.)
Soup (all varieties)
Breakfast foods (cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars)
Personal care items (soap, shampoo, deodorant)

Please send donations to school November 12, 13 or 14 so that the students may present these items before the altar at Mass.
Thank you for your generosity.
