Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;
Our school offers a super craft show each year called the Handmade Market. There are more than 60 vendors with their handmade crafts. We ask you to spread the word about this event. The more attendees, the better each vendor does and this will keep the craft show a positive event from year to year! SWS makes a profit for having a full slate fo vendors — and yes we did fill up this year with all 60 spots taken with handmade items.
Saturday, October 30th – 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
This takes place in our gym (Parish Activity Center)
We will have breakfast treats and coffee for those coming early and a lunch packet for those who come later or shop all day – all food for sale and prepared in our kitchen.
Masking is optional. Crowds are usually heavy at the beginning but get much lighter as they day goes on so if you are trying to avoid too many people, we suggest that you come late morning or around noon.
Gather your family, bring your spouse, or make it a girls morning out! It is so much fun!

Dress code issues with girls
1. Hair color needs to be natural color – no hair dye with colors of the rainbow. (No dye for special days – such as spirit days, Halloween, or crazy days)
2. Girls can wear jumpers – school plaid or navy blue- official style with polo underneath, waistband and pleated skirt.
Other approved items: skirt, skort, shorts, long pants – all in official uniform style – waistband, zipper, cotton twill, – navy or plaid.
3. Make-up is appropriate as girls get older but not in the elementary grade levels (K-6).
4. All skirts, skorts, and jumpers need to be at the mid-thigh level or longer – we are seeing some that are too short.
5. Leggings can be worn under other uniform pieces – not as a stand-alone replacement for pants. (red, white, navy blue)
Dress Code Issues with boys
1. Socks must be white, navy blue or black only – plain

Parenting webinars
This school year, the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) is again offering monthly parenting webinars with Dr. Jules Nolan as part of its mental health and wellness initiative, Peace of Mind. We’re pleased to share the information about the webinar in October.

Halloween
Each class will be doing a Halloween activity in the classroom this year instead of a school wide activity (due to the gym being used to set up for the Handmade Market). Some classrooms will allow a costume time on Friday, October 29. Check your child’s teacher page for more information.
