Preschool Grant Money is Available
The Schulze Early Learning Scholarship is available for the 2019-20 school year for preschool families who plan to enroll in preschool next fall and will continue on to SWS kindergarten. Spread the word. The application link opened on November 1. Families may qualify for $500 to $4000.

  • The child must be enrolling in the final year of Little Saints Preschool. (PreK class – 3 or 5 days)
The family must be a middle-income family.
The family must be considering enrollment at SWS kindergarten in the future.

There is still money available of our current PreK students enrolled in th 2018-19 class of PreK. Nine of our families received a grant this year but the foundation has more funds to give. If you did not get a grant or did not apply and your child will be enrolled in our SWS kindergarten next fall – YOU QUALIFY!

Our Prekindergarten students had a fun day on Friday as “Kindergarten Students in Training” during their move-up day. Pictured here is Ms. Schneider, our kindergarten teacher, with  prekindergarten students as they enjoy time in the kindergarten classroom.

POT-O-GOLD
Want to win $20,000 in cash?
This year we will be doing this fun raffle called the
POT-O-GOLD.
There will be 600 tickets sold for $100 each.
The winning raffle ticket will be drawn at the school golf tournament on June 14.
If you want to buy a ticket or if you want to sell a few tickets to friends, contact the school office. Several smaller cash prizes are included in this raffle.

Prizes: $20,000, $2000, 2x$1000, 2x$500

Picture Days
All students in preschool to grade 8 will have their pictures taken by Greg Rademacher Photography. You are under No Obligation to purchase these. You can order them if you wish. The order and payment must accompany the child on the day of the pictures. Order forms were sent home last week.

Students can wear any clothing that you desire for them to have a professional school portrait. These will be used in our school yearbook later in the year so even if you do not plan to purchase, all students will get their picture taken.

Tuesday, November 6 – Grades Preschool, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

Wednesday, November 7  – Grades PreK, 6, 7, 8

Election Day – Tuesday, November 6
The community will be using our gym to vote on Tuesday. The voters will be coming into the doors by the playground that enter directly into the gym and will not be able to enter into the parish activity center. Our students will remain locked inside and safe to walk through our building as usual. We will not be going out for recess due to the voting traffic.

Family groups will eat lunch and share recess together today. This is a treat for everyone. We love our family groups at SWS! Big and little kids all make friends with each other throughout the school year. One big happy family!

Food Drive
On November 14, our school will be celebrating Thanksgiving at mass. It has been a tradition for our students to bring non-perishable food and personal care items to share with those in our community who are less fortunate. Please consider some of the following items for which there is currently a greater need at the Peace Center.
Condiments (mayo, dressings, seasonings)
Juices (apple, orange, tomato, etc.)
Soup (all varieties)
Breakfast foods (cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars)
Personal care items (soap, shampoo, deodorant)

Please send donations to school November 12, 13 or 14 so that the students may present these items before the altar at Mass.
Thank you for your generosity.

Starry Night Event to take place on March 16
Can you take on a small role?
We have lots of little things to do so don’t be afraid to be a part of the committee.

It can be fun!  You get to make adult friends along the way!
To join the committee just let Kim know.

We will soon be asking for donations – large and small – to make this night a success.

CLUB HOUSE DAYS
Club House will only be open on days when school is in session.  This is a change that must be made due to financial circumstances.   Please plan ahead for the future. If you are in need of a babysitter, for these days, please email kim.doyle@swsaints.org. We have many wonderful 7th and 8th grade students who are on our babysitting lists.
