Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Let us be thankful in this season. Our school community is so thankful for each of you who has shared your child with us, has donated to make sure kids receive a faith-filled education, has prayed for our success, and has sustained us in difficult times.

We ask that you continue to be with us and help us carry on this great ministry and mission of our faith making our school a place where all are connected to God in a greater way and that our children become confident learners and leaders.

Kim Doyle, Principal

“Be Still and Know that I am God” – Psalm 46:10

Food Drive – TAKES PLACE ON WEDNESDAY

All students should bring an item or a bag of items for the food shelf. We are doing a collection on November 17 at the school Mass.

Preschool will not go to Mass but items are still being collected.

This is our annual Thanksgiving collection.

Covid Alert – It is not over!!!!

Please continue to closely monitor your family for symptoms of COVID.

Please test and report Covid when you face this in your family. The school can then allow others to take care so that we protect the more vulnerable people of our community and families.

The SWS families have been awesome in keeping kids home when ill. Please do not let up.

This has been our best mitigation yet! – Closely monitor, track, and isolate the situation so that it does not spread to others.  There are many other things that can be done by each person/family.

Fleece – What are we doing with it?

During Advent the students will be making 100 blankets for the homeless people in the metro area.

Students will divide into their family groups and tie the blankets with their school buddy.

Thanks to all of the helpers who have cut the fleece preparing it for this project.

We need these items in school

We are collecting the following items for an Advent Art Project:

1. Old Cereal boxes and Cracker boxes

2. Old Christmas cards

3. Glitter and Sequins

Dr. Jules Nolan Parenting Session for November

Technology, Social Media, Screen Time, and Parenting

November 22, 7pm

The use of social media and technology is one of the most popular areas of concern for parents of children and adolescents. How much is too much? How do we keep our kids safe online? What about the constant social comparisons? This session will focus on the latest research on the use of social media and technology. It will also help us understand the relationship between brain development and what drives the need to feel connected online as well as those areas of big concern like pornography and algorithms that target adolescent vulnerabilities. Parenting tips will be offered.
