Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

The month of May brings us a fresh new look with all of the springtime flower blooming on the campus of our school. We are very lucky to have such dedicated people such as Ms. McNamara, a former teacher and leader of the Green Team, who works so hard to make our grounds beautiful.  Our parish maintenance crew,  Steve Schmitz and Paul Maruska,  also are incredible in keeping our property clean, in good repair, and looking fantastic. Many others volunteer their time to care for the grounds. There are so many times that I come to school or simply drive by as I am going somewhere in town and just say “wow, our school and church are beautiful.”  What a special place St. Wenceslaus is – both on the inside and on the outside! God is truly present in this place.

Kim Doyle

Volunteer Requirement
Most of our school families are all set!  Thank you so much for volunteering this year. We cannot manage to do all of the amazing events without a great volunteer crew. Your help and involvement continues to be greatly appreciated.

Those who were unable to help out or have selected to opt out, will see the buy out assessment on your TADS account in the next few weeks. If you find this assessment in error, please contact our school office.

Kids Heart Challenge has officially kicked off, and we hope you will join us as we work to “Be the Torch” in the fight against heart disease and stroke. We will guide the way to heart health by funding research and engaging kids so they grow into young adults with healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

You can get started now by registering your student at: and beginning Finn’s Mission! The goal of Finn’s Mission is to help kids with special hearts and teach 1.8 million families around the country to learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR. Why 1.8 million? Because Finn has had 18 procedures.

In addition, our class is participating in a competition to have the most students register and complete Finn’s Mission. If 50% of our students take the challenge and at least three students complete Finn’s Mission, we will be earning two Amazon gift cards for our classroom.

For the Love of Family

This week’s challenge:

Give each family member a super-sour gum ball to take home. At home, ask them to think about something they said recently that they wish they could take back. As they remember those words, have them chew the puckery gum and think about the sour effect of harsh words. Challenge family members to see how many days they can each guard their mouths and ensure that everything they say is true, kind, and necessary.

Join the Green Team this summer

Help keep our campus beautiful through the summer.
Water plants and pull a few weeds.
This is a great job for a family to do together or for the students to earn their service hours.
