Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

 This week we highlight one of our premier activities that brings out the true essence of a school that infuses STEM. The school musical teaches our students to perform and so much more. All of our students have multiple roles in the play. They each have an acting/singing/dancing part and they also have a behind-the-scenes part too. Some of the students work on costumes while others build the set. Some make the advertising pieces, and others create the make-up designs. They need to collaborate, think critically, be creative, and communicate. These skills are what the STEM philosophy entails. They learn excellent life skills that build character and confidence. Our school musicals have shaped many students and we are very proud!

We have table room for 50 more people to come to our Starry Night.  School parents, you are highly encouraged to attend.

Tickets to Shrek!
Our 7th and 8th graders are preparing a school musical for the evenings on March 9 and 10.  This show is great for all ages.

Students learn to act, sing, dance, and perform. They also make the costumes, set, promotions, and learn to do make-up.

Please support the work of our staff and students by enjoying one of our shows.

For the Love of Family

This week’s challenge:

Give family members each a card with Philippians 4:8 printed on it. Ask them to think about the activity they do most—listen to music, watch TV, play video games, cook. Ask each person to place the card on the object or in the area where he or she does the activity. During the week, challenge family members to think about the positive side of their favorite activity and try to find one thing related to that activity that fits the verse and honors God, such as cooking food for family members, keeping in touch with friends, or choosing TV shows that have a positive message. Have them write what honors God on the card and keep it visible as a reminder to choose things in our lives that honor God.

Pot-o-Gold raffle for $20,000 prize.
Each family was given one $100 ticket
Drawing on June 9.
We have 650 to sell in total. We need people to try selling more to meet our goal.
Call or stop in at the school office.

Virtus Account Set-up
To volunteer in school, each person must complete the Virtus Child Safety Program.
