Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Light has great significance during this advent season. It is traditional for us to light a candle on the Advent wreath each week, making our wreath brighter and brighter.  Our days are so dark now, but we hang lights all over to brighten our world. Advent lights bring us joy and happiness. Light has meaning to our attitudes and demeanor. Our dark days can be brightened by light. Christ is the light.

During Advent in school, we focus on the light that Christ brings. Our students and teachers participate in a daily prayer around their classroom Advent wreath. Our entire school meets each week for a special Advent prayer service around an Advent wreath.  We have hung lights up in our school and we have decorated our classroom doors with scenes that show the anticipation of Advent as we bring Christ the light into our lives.

May Christ, the light of all, shine brightly as you grow this Advent season.

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

This is a $50 value just for getting this done early.  Share with others who might be interested in their child attending kindergarten but have no other connection to our school at this point. Early numbers help with our school planning.

Each classroom will have a daily prayer around an Advent Wreath.

We will have an all-school Advent wreath prayer in the gym on Wednesday.

We will have family groups with K-8, and all of the students will make an ornament for one of our school Christmas trees.

Mass is on Friday for the Immaculate Conception of Mary

Santa Secret Shop

Our School Parent Association will be offering the Santa Secret Shop for the students in preschool to grade 8. This will occur on Thursday, Dec. 7, and Friday, Dec. 8.

The shop is a place for kids to get gifts for family. They get to pick it out, and the volunteers will wrap and tag the gifts so they are ready to be placed under your Christmas tree.

Preschool parents, please send $10 in an envelope on Dec. 7 or 8. Your child will get to choose two gifts – one for mom and one for dad ( or you can let us know if you would like the gift for a different special person)

K-8 students who want to participate should have money in an envelope. Mark on the envelope who to shop for and how much to spend.
For example: Mom $5, Dad $5, Brother $3. Gramma $3, and so on…..

Heads Up!
Your Sweepstakes tickets are coming home!

Check your child’s backpack. The tickets are coming home on Monday or Tuesday.

K-8 families will be getting 30 – $10 tickets.
Preschool will be getting 15 – $10 tickets.
