Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of the Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS:
It was so nice to see the kids back in school and such a flurry of activities in the hallways and classrooms once again. Everyone jumped back in with lots of smiles and lots of enthusiasm. School spirit is energizing for everyone.
The one thing that we pray for every day at our school is that God’s Spirit is among us and guides our path. We work hard at our school, and we also pray hard. God guides us and brings us great staff, great families, and great energy each year. This year. is not an exception. God is with us, and His Spirit leads our way.
Kim Doyle, Principal
Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.
Annual School Marathon – Preschool to Grade 8
We kicked off this event with the kids on Friday. The annual marathon is one of 4 required fundraisers. This one brings great excitement to the school as kids earn prizes. Each student has a goal of collecting funds from family and friends. K-8 = $200 and Prechool = $100.
Generally, the event itself is a fun gathering on Saturday, September 30 – 9:00-10:30 AM. We walk/run around the school campus, have food, and win prizes.
Money is collected ahead of time. You can collect cash, send a check, or anyone can donate online. Each donation will be credited to the designated student to count toward their total.
A super easy way to spread the word is to send or post this link for friends to respond directly to the school with a donation.

K-8 parents (Not preschool)
All parents are invited to come to school for a brief time to listen and learn from their child’s teacher. Teachers will go over classroom routines, activities, and curriculum for the year. This is also a great time to ask questions.
This time is NOT meant for a one-on-one parent conference but for a group gathering.
30 minutes is allotted for each teacher to talk to each group, so please be ON TIME.
7:00 -8:00 – Grades 6-8 – rotation
We apologize ahead of time if you have time slots that interfere.
Students should not attend.
We need as many SWS people as possible to join our parade unit. Once again, we want to make a huge impact on the New Prague community as we come down the street in our RED t-shirts.
Students can wear their new red t-shirts.
Parents can wear red too – $10 for an old style one and $20 for one with the new logo. Get these in the office this week.
Preschool parents – please plan to walk with us and put your kids in wagons and strollers.
K-1 students can ride the float ( but only with a parent onboard too) or they may walk with a wagon or stroller.
Grade 2-8 students can walk with us and toss candy.
The parade route goes from the railroad tracks down Main street to 7th street. We will unload the float near the baseball fields (by the Park Ballroom) – old pool lot.
We are number 55 in the line-up.
School Parent Association
Any parent is welcome to join the School Parent Association (SPA). The first meeting is Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 PM.
This meeting takes place in the staff workroom by the office. Enter through the front doors.
The SPA is a supportive group of parents who meet monthly. Their goal is to aid teachers and kids, making a cheerful impression on all. Activities are fun and involve special treats. Projects are focused on helping make the school great. Join us for the meeting if you can!
Teachers need a few minutes to prepare before students arrive. We hold them in the lobby if they come too early.
