Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS,

This week we close our 2020-2021 school year. This year challenged us in all ways but also taught us many things. We know that we have courage, we have stamina, and we have faith.

Thanks to the teachers in the classrooms who heroically put themselves on the front line for the kids. To the entire staff, who performed tasks never been done so that our school could stay open.

To the parents, who cooperated with the new rules that we call protocols, keeping the children home at the first sign of illness and who took hours away from their jobs to be with the kids, helping them with online learning and more. We thank you.

To the donors, and supporters, friends, and grandparents, who sent money, sent letters of encouragement as we navigated every aspect of the school programs. To all of you, we are so thankful!

Please keep our school in your prayers so that we may continue to be blessed with health, increased enrollment, great staff, and support for many years to come and especially as we make plans for 2021-2022.

Pray Often, Work Hard, Trust God

 Changes in staff:

Ann Christy, our current 4th grade teacher, is retiring  after serving our school community for the past 32 years.  We thank her for all of the blessings that she has brought to our school and for the huge impact that she has had on so many studetns along the way.  We wish her peace, health, and enjoyment in her years of this well deserved retirement.

Jennifer Wetschka, our current 1st grade teacher, is retiring from teaching and will be taking on another position in the business setting. Mrs. Wetschka has been in our school for the past 15 years. She has taught both 1st grade and kindergarten. Most of the students currently in the school have had her as their teacher. We thank her for the years she has spent with us and wish her well in her new endeveours.

Katielynn Lusignan, our 3/4 preschool teacher, will be leaving us after one year teaching preschool. Katielynn has been an awesome additon to our staff. We thank her for her year with us. She is unable to continue due to family commitments, but we hope she will be able to continue as an active school volunteer or even as an occasional substitute teacher. Best wishes and thank you!

Casey McDonald stepped in quickly to complete the year as our substitute art teacher.  We are thankful for her service. Casey will be teaching preschool with us this summer until she gets married and moves out of state with her new husband at the end of July. Congratualtions and best wishes.

Colin Smisek has been a long- term substitute in grade 5 this spring.  Colin will be moving into his first official teaching position after obtaining his license. Colin will be teaching at the high school level in Eden Valley. We wish him all the best and thank him for taking over our 5th grade for the past few months.
