Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS,

This week I strongly encourage all school people to get ready for our Starry Night. We need our school parents, grandparents, friends, and supporters to be on board with us as we do our event virtually. Spread the word, share our links. We need as many people as possible to participate.

We would LOVE to have our event in person but have our sights on 2022 to make that happen. This is why it is even more important to have you join us virtually in 2021. The Starry Night is the largest party of the year and generates large funds to keep our school budget sustainable. So much work goes into this event each year by dedicated people who volunteer and donate.

March 8 begins the fun!   Look for details on our Facebook links about the scavenger hunt around town. Post your picture on Facebook for a chance to win a great Yeti cooler. Register to watch virtually from March 17 (early bidding) to March 20 at 9:00 PM (Winners confirmed)

We have the most amazing items up for bid that have all been donated by our supporters: Trips, Condos, Flights to anywhere, Theatre, Golf, Pontoon rides, Tailgates, Hayrides, Things our kids made,Things from the staff, Beverage baskets, Corn hole games, Services, Class baskets, Dinners, Parties, Uniform passes, and so much more!

Peace of Mind Parent Sessions for March
Helping your Struggling Learner – for Parents

Join over 100 Catholic School Parents from accross the Archdiocese
Free parenting webinar sessions

When our children struggle in school, it is hard to know when to be firm and when to be flexible. Should we intervene early and structure the environment for success or should we view learning as developmental and expect all of our children to advance at different speeds? Should we give our kids consequences for poor grades or can we “pay” them to get A’s? How do we know when poor school achievement is something more serious than low motivation? In this session you will learn research-based strategies for helping struggling learners no matter the cause of the struggle. You will also learn signs of more serious learning issues and how to help your child thrive in school.

Volunteer Requirements

As we head into the second half of the 2020-21 school year, the St. Wenceslaus School Advisory Council, has decided to waive the volunteer requirement for this school year (and the fee if chose not to volunteer). This is a one time waive as we see most of the big fundraising events will be virtual or being planned differently and we have less opportunities to volunteer. We recognize some may not be able to volunteer for various COVID related reasons.

We are very grateful for the generosity of time and talent of our families and look forward to the days when we can gather under more normal conditions.

That being said, we do have many activities coming up and will appreciate many of our school parents freely volunteering to help. (Starry Night, Fish Fry, Pot-O-Gold, Golf Tournament)
