Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of the Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

The Crown of Thorns! I had the privilege of seeing a thorn from the crown Jesus wore on his journey carrying His cross to His crucifixion. This thorn was as long and as thick as a nail. It was hard and didn’t break when the crown was pressed onto Jesus’s head. I cannot imagine the pain that Jesus endured. During this Lenten season, we try to understand how Jesus’s journey leads us on our journey in life. Do we wear a crown of thorns at times? How do we wear our crown? What do we learn, and what can we endure?  How thankful are we to Jesus for taking on this journey that leads us to the Glory of His Resurrection and thus ours too?

Kim Doyle, Principal

Psalm 86:11
Teach me your ways, O LORD, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor you.

Living Stations

All are invited to join our school at the Living Stations, which is run by 8th-grade students.  This is a holy moment in our school.

The Living Stations will occur at 1:00 in the church on Thursday, March 21.

Collection for the Peace Center
Personal items are being collected.
Shampoo, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair brush, shaving cream, etc…

Send the items to school before Wednesday.
We will carry our items to the Peace Center on Wednesday, March 20 in the morning.

Starry Night Success

Thank you to everyone who attended the event, bid on our items either at the event or online, helped at the event, prepared for the event, decorated, cleaned up after the event, donated items, money, and so much more.

A special thanks to all of those who served on the planning committee and to those who took leadership roles.

We had a very successful night in all ways!

Congratulations to Ron McBroom

Ron is the recipient of the first annual “Spirit of St. Wenceslaus” award, which was given at our Starry Night. The award will be given to a person each year who represents a faith-filled example of service, dedication, and spirit for our school’s mission.

We will recognize Ron again at Mass on Wednesday, March 20  with the school children.
