Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update

From the Office of Principal
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Supporters of SWS,
We have several very busy months ahead, and they are so important to the school. Our major fundraiser is upon us with our Starry Night. We hope that many of you will be joining us for this event. Our fish fry is known to be one of the best in the area.  Along with these events, we are also thinking ahead to next fall with registration and enrollment planning.

Our school is different than government-run schools in the fact that it takes the entire village to make it a success.  As a school with a church connection, we are here to support the ministry of our faith. We charge just enough to make a budget work and not to make a profit. We are not public, we are not private, but we are here for a very beautiful reason- that is to teach our children to love God every day while they also get a great academic program.

We are here to extend the family values and to promote an atmosphere where love, compassion, forgiveness, understanding, hard work, and excitement happen just like it does in your homes. We are the SWS family!

Registration Forms are due March 15 for 2019-2020

It is critical that we get our classroom numbers settled by this date for next fall. We ask that everyone submit their registration forms as early as possible this year. We really appreciate your cooperation on this task. You are amazing school parents for complying with all of our deadlines and procedures. Thank you so very much!

Rollerskating Party – Rescheduled
The event from Catholic Schools Week has been rescheduled. We will go on Tuesday, March 5. The students in K-8 will take the bus. All parents are welcome but must drive to Skateville in Burnsville.  No Uniforms this day – Wear your Sports T-shirts and Jerseys.

We especially encourage preschool families and families who have never attended to join us this year for A Bit Of Irish Fun!

4HG – For His Glory Basketball Clinic

The Catholic School Center of Excellence along with professional NFL player, Matt Birk, presents a wonderful opportunity of all boys and girls in grades 4-8. Matt offers a basketball clinic that brings to light the focus of God and our faith in playing sports.

The clinic is free to Grades 4-8 students but they will need to sign up.

Monday, March 18 2:45-5:00

Volunteers are needed for many things at all schools and SWS also needs volunteers!
We ask all families to help out with a few of our events. Preschool families, we ask you to help with at least 1 event and K-8 families with at least 2 events. Volunteering helps the school but it also is a fun way for you to get to know others. SWS has 3 major events that we ask for help:

The Fish Fry and Starry Night Auction Event are the major event and we need 100’s of volunteer hours to be successful. Click on a link below to help.

Bean Bag Tournament

SWS has once again been chosen as a beneficiary of the Angels Among Us (AAU) fundraiser. This is the same foundation that raised money last summer, and the donation to SWS was used to purchase the STEM desks and chairs in our 4th grade classroom. Our 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Biren, is part of this foundation.

They are hosting a Bean Bag Tournament, Breakfast, and Silent Auction event on Saturday, February 23 in the PAC. You are invited to join them for a french toast and sausage breakfast (Ettlin’s french toast), registr as a team to compete in the Bean Bag tournament, or purchase items in the Silent Auction.

They are also looking for SWS volunteers to help; please click the Signup Genius link to volunteer. If you would like to donate an item to the Silent Auction, register a Bean Bag Team, or purchase Breakfast Tickets, please contact Dawn Biren at dawn.biren@swsaints.org.
