Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

This week in the light of the holiday season, we find our school community in a deep dark sadness. This comes with the passing our one of our school parents, Dan King, father of 4 boys and husband of our 4th grade teacher, Lori King. Our staff feels lost and helpless as we grieve for the loss this family has. School parents are reaching out asking how to help as well; what to do? how to help? But what is that something that can be given or done to help? It feels deep, dark and hopeless.

It is these moments that our faith comes to light. We know the resurrection story and the wonder and awe that God has promised us. We are brought into the brightest light of all, Jesus Christ who came to bring us the light of salvation and the glory of eternal life.  This promise is a gift that we get though our faith. It brings us light in a dark time.

What a special gift a faith community can be to all of us; staff, students, and our school families. Let us embrace the King family and each other through the light of our faith.

Christmas Angel Program

This is a program run by our School Parent Association with two goals:
1. Make it easy for a family to recognize and gift a teacher or staff person for Christmas.
2. Provide a Merry Christmas message to that staff member.

Letters went out in kids back packs last Friday. Basically this is how it works.  You give a cash gift to be joined with other cash gifts for a certain staff member.  The staff member knows you gave but doesn’t know the amount as it is all combined together. Our School Parent Association also gives so that each and every staff member gets something.

Please know that this is OPTIONAL and staff members do NOT expect any gifts.

Sweepstakes Tickets

K-8 families – 30 tickets.
Preschool families (with no K-8 kids) – 10 tickets.
Tickets are $10 each.

This is 2nd of our 3 required fundraisers. The ticket sales/drawing is not until the end of January.
You can offer them to family and friends in the holiday weeks ahead.
