Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Weekly Office Update

From the Office of Principal

Advent is here.  What an incredible blessing for all of the children who attend our school. We will bring the meaning of the season into our classrooms daily and our students will learn with their classmates and the entire school family.

I often ask myself if people on the outside of our Catholic school community can see the value in putting Christ into the lives of our children day by day. I know that the world can separate academic education from the teaching of our faith, but I cannot. I have been a Catholic school principal, teacher, parent, and student my entire life with the exception of working in a Lutheran college for a short 3 years and attending our local public high school back in the day. My faith is who I am. My faith defines me as a believer who relies on the direction of God, the friendship of Jesus, and the insight of the Holy Spirit to guide me along the way. This guidance is needed daily and continually. It cannot be compartmentalized into faith on one day and business on another day. This is why I am thankful to be at SWS where my faith can be the highlight throughout my day, just as it can be integral in the life of each and every SWS staff member and student.

Blessings to all for the next four weeks of this very holy season, as we study, learn, and recall the history of the birth of Jesus in a stable, the beautiful trust of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Joseph, her husband, as we seek the meaning that changed the world.

Please keep in mind that SWS has about 100 families to attend to all of the events. We really need everyone to step up to help if you can on this committee or on another one.
