Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update

From the Office of Principal:

Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;

Welcome to the 21-22 school year. It is going to be a great one. I can assure you that we have a fantastic group of teachers and staff members here at SWS. We have the energy and experience to make our school the best no matter what comes our way while we put the growth and learning of our students as a high priority.

By enrolling in our school, your children will be cared for and loved. We treat them as we would our own family, and that makes SWS an extraordinary place. Above all, we have grace, hope, and strength because God is the center of each day, of each activity, and each decision. We are a blessing, and we are blessed.

May the Powers of Heaven pour out to our SWS family as we come together for this 21-22 year.

Kim Doyle, Principal

    * Keep a space between you and others.
    * Stay in the room for a short time.

Reading Assessment Days for the K-5 Students

We invite each student going into grades Kindergarten to Grade 5 to come to school with a parent or guardian for a 15-minute reading assessment. This time gives the teacher a chance to be with your child one-on-one before the first day of school. The assessment will be given at your child’s reading or pre-reading level and helps our teachers understand your child from day one.

Assessments take place on Monday, August 30, and Tuesday, August 31
8:00-3:00 by appointment

Click for the sign-up link for K-5 assessment.

Enter through the Main Street doors and go directly to the child’s classroom.
Masks are not required but families have the option to choose to wear a mask. The teacher will ask each child to unmask during the quick read so that the teacher can hear the child reading clearly. This lasts only a few minutes.

Office business can take place while you are in the school building – dropping off forms, payments, etc.

Preschool students are welcome to stop in and check out the preschool classrooms – no appointment is necessary from 9:00-12:00 on either day. This is optional but recommended for those little ones who may feel a bit apprehensive.

Students in grades 6-8 – a little one-on-one time with your teacher is always awesome. Stop in without an appointment anytime between 9:00 – 12:00 on either day. Stay for 10-15 minutes .
