Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;
This year our school will incorporate a theme with the words, “Souls on Fire for God”. We will begin with our staff retreat as we light the fire for God so that we are more aware and better equipped to instill this same love for God into our students. The theme will continue into our marathon and will be a part of our school programs returning over and over throughout our activities and times of prayer.
We strive to have a school community that is focused on God. We invite you too to be a Soul on Fire for God!

Kim Doyle, Principal
“”And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: This is the first commandment.” Mark 12:30

Free and Reduced Lunch for your child.
Look at the chart above. If your salary is at or below what is listed here, then your kids qualify and can get a free lunch each day.
Filling out this application greatly helps the school in obtaining many other state and federal grants.
Please apply if you qualify by clicking here for the form or get it from the school office. Fill it out and send it back in a sealed envelope marked “Confidential for Kim Doyle”
Put money in your family lunch account!
One account per family.
Each time the student has lunch, milk/juice then the funds get deducted. You get an automated text when your account falls below $20.
If your family qualifies for free lunch with K-8 students, then be sure to still have funds for milk/juice selection at snack time or for a 2nd lunch.
Lunch PreK-8 = $3.00
Milk at lunchtime with a lunch from home = $.50 per carton
K-8 Snack time milk/ juice selection = $.50
Extra 2nd or double up lunch = additional $1.50
Car Pick up and Drop off
For K-8 cars: Dropping off K-8 students in the am between (7:10-7:25) and pick up at (2:30- 2:40).
Please drop off/ pick up in the back parking lot only.
All cars should do one of the following:
1. Park your car in the 2nd tier lot away from the school. Walk your child to the crossing guard to cross at the cross walk and enter at the Parish Activity Center Doors.
2. Drive-by drop off. All cars need to enter the drop off line from the south. Please pull as far up in the drop off area as possible. Have all kids jump out of the car on the school side of car only. Exit in a line heading north towards the hospital.
Cars – Please do not weave in and out trying to get ahead of the car in front of you. Take your turn and wait in line to move forward.
Pick up at the end of the day is the same routine. Either park and have your child cross over the crosswalk to meet you or do the drive by pick up.
Kindergarten parents are welcome to bring your child in to the kindergarten hallway/locker area for only the first three days this week.
Preschool parents will do all drop off and pick up at the preschool doors located on Columbus Avenue. Parents are welcome to bring the children inside. Those who pick up at noon will usually find the children on the playground and they will dismiss from there (wait by the gate)

Please pray for our staff as they attend “Souls on Fire Retreat”.
A New School Counselor
Ms. Jaclyn MacDonald has been hired as our counselor.
She comes to us through Phoenix School Counseling under the direction of Dr. Julene Nolan, Psy.D., LP, NCSP. Many staff members and SWS parents have gone on Dr. Nolan’s webinars called “Peace of Mind” in the past few years.
Ms. MacDonald will be with us for one day each week to work with all of our students in classes, groups, or one-to-one.
SWS Uniform Exchange
Facebook Post for SWS parents to give away and find free uniforms.

Do Not bring bags of uniforms to school. We no longer host an exchange.
Be sure to post the sizes you are giving or the sizes you need to connect up with other parents.
Girls Uniform Jumper Definition
There was some confusion on this in the past.
A jumper must be the official school plaid or a plain navy blue one. The fabric is the quality of a regular uniform cotton/poly mix. A jumper is a dress that you wear a school polo or a white blouse underneath.
Bussing Link
Kindergarten students, new families in other grades, and anyone with a change of address who used busing last year. If you did not use bussing due to Covid in the past two years, then you would be considered new since your child was not on the busing list.
Do NOT register if your child used the bus last year and you have no change of address.
