Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;
The summer is now logged in as one of the most challenging ones that I have had in the area of hiring new teachers. I have come to rely on God for answering my prayers and the prayers of so many of our supporters who connect with me often about our school.
We have been so lucky to have had excellent candidates apply for our open teaching positions. I am hearing from other principals that for some of their openings, they have had zero applicants. God brought people to St. Wenceslaus that are high quality people of faith. It is obvious that lots of prayers are being answered and that is the reason why we have successfully hired so many new staff members.
God also is in charge of giving us such dedicated teachers and staff members who do not leave us, who stick with our school, who work so hard together, who have established our school with excellence. These returning people are the greatest gift of all in keeping our misssion going, keeping our school strong, and in keeping transitions smooth. These are the people who deserve our greatest gratitude.
God is so good to our school. Keep the prayers going on your part so that we continue to be a great school for our families and can sustain and grow more in the future.
Thanks to those who pray for us and to God for answering!
Kim

Back-to-School Open House – Preschool to grade 8
Here is how it works!
1. Come to the playground to find the table with your child’s homeroom teacher.
2. Meet the teacher and they will give one ticket for a Kona Ice to each student in their homeroom.
3. Parents and other family members should come to the specialist teacher table (art, music, phy.ed, and office staff) to get a ticket for each parent and sibling who attends.
Do NOT bring backpacks and school supplies on this night!

Free and Reduced Lunch for your child.
Look at the chart above. If your salary is at or below what is listed here, then your kids qualify and can get a free lunch each day.
Filling out this application greatly helps the school in obtaining many other state and federal grants.
Please apply if you qualify by clicking here for the form or get it from the school office. Fill it out and send it back in a sealed envelope marked “Confidential for Kim Doyle”

Prayer for all New Prague Schools – Sunday, August. 28
Join together at 1:00 PM at the front entry, on the parking lot side. This is the door by the gym entrance and where we have the bus and parent pick up and drop off lines.
The community of New Prague will be praying at all of the schools on this day. Please drive or walk over for this short 15 minutes to prayer for our school, our staff, our students, and our school families. We encourage families and children to attend and anyone in the community.
Have you completed all of your back-to-school forms?
Required paperwork is ready for you on line.

Assessments for the K-Grade 5 students
This is a 20 minute time slot with your child’s K-5 homeroom teacher.
Assessments will take place from 8:00- 2:30 on August 29 and 30. Your child can bring school supplies for desks and lockers at this time.
School Calendar Change
Our staff will be heading on a spiritual retreat. Due to this important day, we will NOT have any school classes or daycare programs in Tuesday, September 6.
Please pray for our staff as they attend “Souls on Fire Retreat”.
It is our intent at SWS to continue to build up a strong faith filled community, for adults and children alike. We are thrilled to have found a back-to-school retreat experience for our teachers and staff. Whenever Christ is encountered, there is a ripple effect of blessing outpoured.
Kitchen Helpers are needed!
With all of the staff changes taking place, we really need more and more help.
We will take any time that you can give us. One day per week or one day per month- 2-3 hours per day.
This is for serving lunch and cleaning up after lunch.
Please contact Katie if you can help.
All school parents/grandparents/friends of the school are encouraged to help!
SWS Uniform Exchange
Facebook Post for SWS parents to give away and find free uniforms.
Facebook – SWS Uniform Exchange
https://www.facebook.com/groups/237192437844409
Do Not bring bags of uniforms to school. We no longer host an exchange.
Be sure to post the sizes you are giving or the sizes you need to connect up with other parents.
Girls Uniform Jumper Definition
There was some confusion on this in the past.
A jumper must be the official school plaid or a plain navy blue one. The fabric is the quality of a regular uniform cotton/poly mix. A jumper is a dress that you wear a school polo or a white blouse underneath.
Bussing Link
Kindergarten students, new families in other grades, and anyone with a change of address who used busing last year. If you did not use bussing due to Covid in the past two years, then you would be considered new since your child was not on the busing list.
Do NOT register if your child used the bus last year and you have no change of address.
