Saint Wenceslaus Catholic School Office Update
From the Office of Principal:
Dear Parents, Grandparents, and Friends of SWS;
……….And we are off!
Staff members are now back in the building, working hard to prepare for the new school year.
We are excited to bring a new science curriculum into the school. This comprehensive program called “Inspire” will be used from preschool to the 8th grade. Our faith and science go hand in hand. Teaching our students to be curious learners of the world around us will help them not only appreciate creation, humanity, and the scientific wonders of the future but also guide their morals/values as students grow in their faith.
This new program reinforces our STEM philosophy, with our focus on collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and communication. These STEM skills are essential for future leaders in our society. Our goal is to help all students become confident and capable learners.
Other new curriculum being initiated into the school this year will be a new phonics program, a new program for writing skills in primary grades, focus on the teaching of acceptance (We are made in the likeness and image of God), incorporation of a new SEL program (Social Emotional Learning) for students in grades 5-8, and a new literacy curriculum for our preschoolers.
Returning teachers will partner with our new teachers becoming mentors and guides as we form our new team for the school year. Our spirits are high and rejuvenated, and we are ready to go!
We are so happy to have you join us!

Prayer for all New Prague Schools – Sun., Sept. 28
Join together at 1:00 PM at the front entry, on the parking lot side. This is the door by the gym entrance and where we have the bus and parent pick up and drop off lines. The community of New Prague will be praying at all of the schools on this day. Please drive or walk over for this short 15 minutes to prayer for our school, our staff, our students, and our school families. We encourage families and children to attend and anyone in the community. St. Wenceslaus is lucky to have Deacon Mickey and Michelle Redfearn leading our prayer. Pastors and community members from other parishes will be teaming up at the public schools to also pray for a good school year.
Have you completed all of your back-to-school forms?

School Calendar Change
Our staff will be heading on a spiritual retreat. Due to this important day, we will NOT have any school classes or daycare programs in Tuesday, September 6.
Please pray for our staff as they attend “Souls on Fire Retreat”.
It is our intent at SWS to continue to build up a strong faith filled community, for adults and children alike. We are thrilled to have found a back-to-school retreat experience for our teachers and staff. Whenever Christ is encountered, there is a ripple effect of blessing outpoured.
Kitchen Helpers are needed!
With all of the staff changes taking place, we really need more and more help.
We will take any time that you can give us. One day per week or one day per month- 2-3 hours per day.
This is for serving lunch and cleaning up after lunch.
Please contact Katie if you can help.
All school parents/grandparents/friends of the school are encouraged to help!
SWS Uniform Exchange
Facebook Post for SWS parents to give away and find free uniforms.

Do Not bring bags of uniforms to school. We no longer host an exchange.
Be sure to post the sizes you are giving or the sizes you need to connect up with other parents.
Girls Uniform Jumper Definition
There was some confusion on this in the past.
A jumper must be the official school plaid or a plain navy blue one. The fabric is the quality of a regular uniform cotton/poly mix. A jumper is a dress that you wear a school polo or a white blouse underneath.
Bussing Link
Kindergarten students, new families in other grades, and anyone with a change of address who used busing last year. If you did not use bussing due to Covid in the past two years, then you would be considered new since your child was not on the busing list.
Do NOT register if your child used the bus last year and you have no change of address.
